Flex pipe is an important connection accessory between the automotive engine and the exhaust system. Sometimes people also call it the exhaust flex pipe. It consists of a corrugated tube, interlock, outer braided mesh, and reinforced fixing cap. Commonly used in front-wheel drive vehicles with transverse engines, flex pipes are installed between the exhaust manifold and the down pipe. Its preferred material is stainless steel 304. Compared with traditional rubber materials, it has a higher pressure bearing capacity and can adapt to a wider range of temperature changes. Flex pipes are used to convey exhaust gas and reduce noise, and also isolate engine vibration. It helps increase the life of the entire exhaust system.
