AM350 Bellows
AM350 Bellows
AM350 bellows is a custom bellows with high mechanical strength and is a flexible connection solution for extreme operating conditions. AM350 bellows can be used to compensate for pipe displacement, absorb equipment vibration, and isolate internal and external system pressures. The types of AM350 bellows are mainly small diameter edge welded bellows and large diameter thick wall bellows assemblies. The tensile strength of the age-hardened AM350 is about twice that of ordinary stainless steel, which means that AM350 bellows can be made of a thinner material to withstand higher pressures. For some medium and high pressure applications, AM350 bellows not only provide better pressure resistance, but also reduce the weight of the entire bellows assembly. Because of the use of thin-walled raw materials, AM350 bellows also get better sensitivity than stainless steel bellows. When precise control is required, the AM350 bellows can be quickly and accurately returned to the original position. Stainless steel bellows are relatively softer and do not recover as well as AM350 bellows.

About AM350 Material
AM350 is a unique semi-stainless steel that combines the machinability of austenitic stainless steel with the high strength of martensitic stainless steel. The AM350 raw material in the delivered condition is soft austenite, which is easy to form into bellows or diaphragm stamping. When the AM350 Bellows is formed, it needs to be cold-treated to transform metastable austenite into a high-strength martensite matrix. Finally, the AM350 bellows can obtain ultra-high yield strength and fatigue resistance by high temperature aging hardening.
Age Hardening/Precipitation Hardening
The stability of the internal structure of the metal brought by age hardening also gives AM350 excellent fatigue resistance. The AM350 bellows can withstand up to millions of cycles without experiencing fatigue failure or rupture. When your metal bellows frequently crack at the peaks, replacing them with AM350 bellows is an effective method. Considering the high material cost and complex manufacturing process of AM350 Bellows, it is limited in use for some vital positioning.
