There are mainly two different forming methods for metal hoses, which are made by different bellows forming equipment. They are rubber expansion and spinning mechanical forming respectively. Metal hoses made by rubber expansion are annular hoses, while those made by spinning mechanical forming are helical hoses. Annular hose and helical hose are two different convolution types of metal hose.
The use of metal hoses is mainly annular hoses, and the use of helical hoses is limited to small sizes. Helical hoses are only mentioned when a few limited factors such as pressure resistance and cost are taken into consideration. Annular hoses are available in a wide range of sizes, from DN8 to DN300.
