Marine exhaust bellows find primary application in internal combustion engine exhaust systems and serve as flexible connectors for various equipment, such as pumps, valves, compressors, and refrigeration units.

Their key functions include compensating for changes in pipeline displacement and absorbing vibrations generated by the connected equipment.

These bellows come in sizes ranging from DN50 to DN500.

The materials commonly used for marine exhaust bellows are stainless steel 321 and 316L.

Stainless steel 321 is suitable for handling oil, fresh water, steam, and other flowing media, while stainless steel 316L is chosen for applications involving seawater as the flowing medium.

It’s important to note that the choice of connecting flanges varies based on the intended use.

There are two types: movable flange connections and fixed flange connections.

In cases where the flowing medium is seawater, marine exhaust bellows are equipped with movable flanges at both ends.

This design prevents direct contact between the seawater inside the bellows and the flanges, ensuring the durability of carbon steel flanges.

Opting for carbon steel flanges also helps reduce material procurement costs.

Marine exhaust bellows are typically designed with a thin-walled, multi-layer structure.

This design offers the advantage of low stiffness and excellent flexibility, making them ideal for their intended marine applications.
