Metal Vacuum Hose

Metal Vacuum Hose

A metal vacuum hose, designed for the specific purpose of connecting vacuum pipelines or vacuum equipment, serves as a crucial component for both flexible connections and vibration isolation. In contrast to standard metal hoses that offer a range of material options, metal vacuum hoses are exclusively crafted from stainless steel materials, namely stainless steel 304 and stainless steel 316. This specialization has led to these hoses often being referred to as stainless steel vacuum hoses.

The stainless steel vacuum hose is an assembly featuring a hydraulically formed bellows hose seamlessly connecting two vacuum flanges. It boasts exceptional flexibility and extensibility, making it a primary choice for operations conducted under sub-atmospheric pressure conditions. One distinctive feature setting stainless steel vacuum hoses apart from corrugated metal hose is their retractability. While corrugated metal hoses are predominantly employed in pressure-bearing environments, flexible corrugated metal hoses incorporate a stainless steel braid covering, reinforcing their ability to withstand significantly higher pressure levels.

The broader range of applications covered by stainless steel vacuum hoses, compared to their rubber or plastic counterparts, can be attributed to the inherent qualities of stainless steel. These hoses exhibit superior resistance to elevated temperatures and corrosion, courtesy of the stainless steel raw materials used in their construction. As a result, stainless steel vacuum hoses have become indispensable components across a multitude of vacuum systems. These systems play pivotal roles in various fields, including the operation of vacuum pumps, and vacuum evaporation systems, and in the functions of educational and research laboratories. In these diverse applications, stainless steel vacuum hoses are essential contributors, ensuring the seamless operation and reliability of critical vacuum systems.

Metal vacuum hoses are categorized based on material composition into stainless steel 304 vacuum hoses and stainless steel 316 vacuum hoses. They can also be classified by their connection fittings, leading to three primary types: KF (NW) vacuum hoses, CF vacuum hoses, and LF (ISO) vacuum hoses. Among these, the KF (NW) vacuum hose stands out as the most prevalent and commonly employed variant in vacuum applications.

Choosing The Right Metal Vacuum Hose

When determining the right metal vacuum hose for your needs, several critical factors come into play. These include material composition, hose size, length, as well as the choice of connecting fittings. Additionally, it’s imperative to take into account the specific operating pressure conditions to ensure that the selected vacuum hose does not collapse or pinch under excessive vacuum pressures.

It’s worth noting that high-quality metal vacuum hoses offer an unparalleled service lifespan that surpasses the durability of rubber or plastic vacuum hoses. This longevity, coupled with their robust performance, makes them an exceptional choice for demanding vacuum applications.

Key Features Of Metal Vacuum Hoses

Metal vacuum hoses possess distinctive characteristics that set them apart from other types of metal hoses, owing to their specialized utility in specific working conditions. Below, we’ve compiled a summary of these unique attributes for your reference:

  • Soft hydroformed bellows
  • Bendable and stretchable bellows hose
  • Customizable total length
  • Hygienic surface cleanliness
  • Easy to assemble and disassemble
  • International standardization of types and specifications of connecting fittings

Installation And Safety

The installation of metal vacuum hoses is notably straightforward. Consider the example of KF vacuum hoses: these hoses are connected using two KF flanges, and they are secured in place with clamps. What sets this process apart is its simplicity; the entire assembly or disassembly can be accomplished manually, without the need for any specialized tools. For more comprehensive guidance on vacuum hose installation, detailed instructions are available.

Derived from metal bellows, metal vacuum hoses offer a blend of the retractability found in metal bellows and the flexibility inherent to metal hoses. They have gained significant traction across various applications that demand vacuum sealing solutions.

vacuum hose types

kF Bellows

Both ends are connected by KF flange, easy to install and disassemble. It is the most widely used type of vacuum bellows.

ISO Bellows

One type is an ISO bolt hole flange with bolt holes and the other is a caliper flange attached with caliper screws

CF Bellows

Both ends are ConFlat flanged and fixed by bolts. The flange on one side can be rotated.

Edge Welded Bellows Featured

edge welded bellows

Compared to formed metal bellows, it has a larger stroke length and a more precise spring rate.

* Lengths can be customized up to 4000 mm according to customer's requirement.
