valve bellows

The valve bellows here refers to a metal bellows used inside the valve. The valve bellows assembly is used to effectively isolate the flowing medium inside the valve from the external working environment. The valve bellows is connected to the valve stem by welding, forming an axially movable mechanical hard seal for the valve. Compared to traditional packing-sealed valves, bellows valves greatly reduce the probability of leakage. The valve bellows with good quality has become the key to improve the service life of the valve.

valve bellows materials

Bellows valves are commonly used in special applications such as petroleum, chemical, and nuclear power plants, thus placing higher demands on the materials of the valve bellows. Valve bellows are typically made of austenitic stainless steel and various high-temperature alloys. The selection of materials for valve bellows primarily considers factors such as the difficulty of bellows forming, weldability, working pressure, operating temperature, the corrosiveness of the flow medium, and wear.

valve bellows sizes

The valve bellows are installed inside the bellows valve as an assembly and are the key component to achieving zero leakage in bellows valves. The lower end of the valve bellows is connected to the valve stem, and the upper end is connected to the flange, providing a deformable axial seal for the bellows valve. The inside diameter of the valve bellows depends on the diameter of the valve stem, and the gap between them should be greater than 1.5 millimeters. The ratio of the outside diameter to the inside diameter of the bellows is generally between 1.3 and 1.5. When designing and procuring valve bellows, full consideration should be given to the space limitations within the valve body.

6 different inspection methods

our inspection methods

Visual inspection

Visually observe the surface condition and structure of the bellows.

Weld quality inspection

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing the elit Aliquam placerat dolor

Dimensional inspection

Use precise calipers to check the geometric dimensions of bellows.

Tightness test

Check the tightness by using a helium mass spectrometer leak detector.

Pressure resistance test

At ambient temperature, the hydrostatic test is carried out at 1.5 times the working pressure.

Cycle life test

Under working pressure and working stroke at ambient temperature.
